Cannabis will soon be legal in New Brunswick. But until federal legislation comes into effect, it is still against the law to possess, use, cultivate or sell non-medical cannabis.
And even once legal, like tobacco and alcohol, there will be regulations around its use.
The minimum age to possess, purchase and consume cannabis will be 19 years old.
Persons under the age of 19 can be fined or prosecuted if they’re caught with cannabis. The cannabis will be seized, their parents or guardians may be notified, and they will be fined as they are for underage possession of alcohol.
I understand the risks. I will make informed decisions about my personal cannabis use.
I'M IN CONTROL.
